Finland Chamber of Commerce and the Finnish Chambers of Commerce

The Finnish Chambers of Commerce represent a regional, national and global co-operative network of companies. The operational emphases of Finland Chamber of Commerce include lobbying for trade and industry, and improving the international operational conditions for companies, attending to public tasks and self-government procedures related to business activities, and providing expert services.

The key strategic areas for the interest representation activities of Finland Chamber of Commerce are those involving economic policy, taxation, legislation, industrial policy and international affairs. Finland Chamber of Commerce is the umbrella organisation for the 19 Finnish Chambers of Commerce. Finnish companies are members of the Chambers of Commerce.

Finland Chamber of Commerce and the individual Chambers of Commerce promote inter-company co-operation and networking. They assist companies in efforts to internationalise and support their entry into the relevant markets. They aim to abolish trade obstacles and contribute to the systems of international agreements. The Chambers of Commerce support the investment initiatives undertaken by individual companies, and they advance foreign trade through different development projects.

The Chambers of Commerce issue documents for foreign trade and export in order to facilitate business in countries outside of the European Union. Corporate growth is supported through the arrangement of business-contact travels and facilitation of business connections. The international network of Chambers of Commerce comprises 14,000 Chambers worldwide.

Arbitration is a dispute resolution method that provides an alternative to litigation, and is a popular means of settling business disputes. Any dispute which can be settled by agreement between the parties may be referred to arbitration. The advantages of arbitration include the following: speed, flexibility, confidentiality, expertise and an arbitral award is final.
