Finland Chamber of Commerce has repesentation in the European Economic and Social Committee
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC ) is situated in Brussels and has, since 1957, served as the consultative organ of the European Union. The Committee’s expertise is forwarded in the form of statements addressed to the primary institutions of the EU. The Committee serves as a bridge between the institutions of the EU and organised civil society. The EESC comprises a wide range of economic, social and cultural interest groups from the EU member states.
The EESC is divided into three groups: Employers, Employees, and Various Interests. Finland has nine members in the EESC, three in each group.
Deputy Director Marja-Liisa Peltola serves as a representative of Finland Chamber of Commerce within the Employers’ group.
